Case summary
Sumal Laxman Rite, age 32, resident of Dhaval, Phaltan, Satara, belonging to the Hindu Matang caste, lives with her husband, in-laws, and three daughters. They have an ongoing land dispute and court case with Arjun Raghunath Tambe, who belongs to the Hindu Dhangar caste.
On 31 January 2025, around 4:00 PM, she and her husband went to their cattle shed in Mahadev Mala to feed the cattle. At that time, Hanmant Raghunath Tambe, Arjun Raghunath Tambe, Ajubai Raghunath Tambe, and Raghunath Nana Tambe came there They abused them, demanded that she withdraw the ongoing court and atrocity cases against them, and threatened to kill them if they did not comply. They also threatened not to let them live in the village.
While she was leaving, Ajubai and Raghunath further abused her and her husband, claimed the disputed land as theirs, threatened to break their legs if they entered it, and ran toward them aggressively. She then went to the police station to file this complaint against the four individuals.
