On 25 November 2024, between 11:00 AM and 11:20 AM, Kiran Satish Shinde, age 22, and his family, residents of Kapilapuri, Paranda Taluka, Dharashiv District, were verbally and physically assaulted by a group of individuals from the village, including Rajkumar Jain, Jaykumar Jain, Bhartesh Awani, Jayghosh Jain, Kishor Awani, Vaibhav Awani, Nabiraj Awani, Bahubali Masalkar, Jitendra Vasgadekar, Anil Vasgadekar, Ranjit Rajkumar Jain, and Jagdish Jain.
The attack occurred after Kiran and his family exercised their right to vote against the assailants' preference in the assembly elections. The accused hurled casteist abuses against the Matang community, struck Kiran with iron rods causing injuries to his head, left elbow, and back, and forcibly entered the house. They assaulted his mother Mohini and aunt Rekha, pulled Mohini's saree, damaged household items, and threatened to burn down the house.
The attack was interrupted by local villagers, including Avinash Masgude, Appa Masgude, and Omkar Mane, who rescued the family. Kiran and his family received medical treatment at the Sub-District Hospital, Paranda, and a complaint was filed at Paranda Police Station.
The incident constitutes a targeted, caste-based assault with threats to life and property.
The complainant, Poonam Dharmaraj Kharde (17 years, student, Chambhar community), resident of Jejla, Taluka Bhum, District Dharashiv, alleges continuous harassment by Raj Laxman Golekar of the same village (Maratha community).
In September 2023, while the complainant was a minor and walking to school, Raj Golekar allegedly forcibly held her, took her photograph without consent, and threatened to make it viral unless she communicated with him. Due to this threat, she continued contact for several months.
In 2025, while the complainant was studying and staying at a hostel in Barshi, Raj Golekar allegedly sent obscene messages and demanded sexual favors through WhatsApp, and threatened to disrupt her education and safety. He also allegedly stalked her near her residence. On June 13, 2025, the complainant's father was informed of a threat by Raj Golekar to kidnap her, following which her education was stopped and she was brought back to the village. On October 30, 2025, Raj Golekar allegedly threatened that he would interfere with her marriage if she married someone else.
The complainant states that despite her family attempting to reason with the accused's family, no corrective action was taken. She alleges ongoing harassment, threats, and intimidation, and seeks legal action against Raj Laxman
The victim, Payal Anil More (17), a minor belonging to the Mang caste and residing at Anala, Taluka Paranda, alleges that approximately 7-8 months prior, she was forcibly taken by Popat Godse to his house while she was alone at home. Inside, he locked the door, sexually assaulted. and raped her despite knowing she was a minor and from a Scheduled Caste community. He allegedly offered her money, threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident, and dropped her back home.
Due to fear and threats, the victim did not report the incident. Subsequently, she missed her menstrual periods and later confirmed her pregnancy through a pregnancy test. On 13 October 2025, due to severe abdominal pain, she was taken to the Sub-District Hospital, Paranda, where doctors confirmed she was approximately eight months pregnant. Upon questioning by her grandmother, the victim disclosed that the pregnancy resulted from the alleged rape by Popat Godse.
The victim seeks legal action against the accused for sexual assault, criminal intimidation, and related offences.
The complainant, residing in Latur with his wife Kirti, son Atharva (9), and deceased daughter Anushka Kirankumar Patole (12), reports that Anushka was a student of Class 6 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chincholirao Wadi, Latur, residing in the girls' hostel since July 2025. On 04/01/2026, around 9:15-10:00 am, the complainant was informed by a staff member that his daughter had been taken to the government hospital, Latur, where she was found dead in the post-mortem room, having committed suicide.
Inquiry revealed that on 03/01/2026, the hostel superintendent Pallavi Kanse allegedly physically and mentally harassed Anushka for allegedly drawing love symbols of boys and girls on the bathroom wall and accused her of being "Manga." Another staff member, Lata Gaikwad, reportedly also harassed Anushka regularly
The complainant alleges that the harassment and torture by Pallavi Kanse and Lata Gaikwad directly led to Anushka's suicide and seeks legal action against them.
