Late. Elumalai belongs to dalit community, he was resides at Navarasam Colony, Vada siruvalur village, Vellimedupettai, Tindivanam Taluk in Villupuram District. He was a agricultural worker. On 19th july 2007 he went to Vada siruvalur lake side to feed his cattle. Around 2.pm he has asked Mr. Kandhan to look after his cattle, until he comes. Mr. Elumalai has gone into the Sugarcane land which is owned by Mr. Palani belongs to dalit community. For long time he didn’t come. So Mr. Kandan called up Mr. Elumalai from that place itself, for that Mr. Elumalai replied as, “I am talking with Mr. Palani, I will be coming within one hour.” Mr.Palani owner of the sugercane land has asked Mr. Elumalai to put fire on the waste of his land. When he was doing that, the sugarcane of Mr. Vasu belongs to caste hindu hindu community, the neighbor land owner of Mr.Palani would also getting fired unfortunately. So Mr.Vasu has got angry with Mr. Elumalai and murdered him and thrown him into the fire (Sugercane land of Mr. Palani). This murder has been supported by Mr.Johni and Mr. Karthik (brother of Vasu).

A Dalit youth beaten to death on theft allegations in Shadipur

- Summary:: A dalit youth named Pradeep (18 yrs) was beaten till death publicly in the allegation of theft on 18th July 2007 in between 12:30 to 1:30 am in the night near Railway Station, Shadipur deptt. Pradeep’s friend Kukku called him and beat him till death with other boys without any cause. The parents of Pradeep took him in a private hospital but the doctors referred him for Deen dayal hospital (Govt. Hospital) where Pradeep has dead. Pradeep was the resident of New Ranjeet Nagar Colony near Shadipur Deptt. New Delhi. In this colony most of the people are Valmiki and belonging to other castes- Chamar, Dhobi in other blocks of this colony. According to his mother Mrs. Sharda Pradeep was a very simple boy. Everybody likes him very much. He never denied anybody for any work. After 5th standard he worked as a sewer Safai Karmachari in MCD. On 18th July the day of incident his friend Kukku called him at 9:00 pm when Pradeep was taking his dinner. But Kukku called Pradeep immediately so he went with him. Around 1:00am in the mid night a news came to Pradeep’s mother through a neighbor sent by Kukku that Pradeep was beaten very badly by some boys at near railway station because he was caught for theft. She also got his son’s mobile so Pradeep’s family members- mother, father, Naresh and Rajkumar went for searching their son Pradeep. They searched nearby places Satayam to Police Station where they have the doubt. But they did not get success. Around 1:30 am in the night they reached near the Shadipur Metro Station where Pradeep was lying on the ground in wounded badly. He told his mother, “Mummy, Kukku called me from home and Kukku (26), Rajendra (28) and Rinku beat me very badly without any cause.” And he fainted by saying this. Naresh (father of Pradeep) went to police station asked to lodge FIR but they did not registered FIR that time. Only one policeman came with him at the spot. Seeing the serious situation of Pradeep he asked them to go to the hospital but he himself went with them. They took Pradeep in a near private nursing home but the doctors referred him to the government- Deen Dayal Hospital. There he was declared dead. According to Pradeep’s uncles, Mukesh and Kishorilal, beat Pradeep very badly along with 6 other drunken people especially Pandu Nagar’s Rinku, and neighbor Kukku and Rajendra. There is a political pressure on police for releasing the accused.

Gang Rape of a Dalit Woman & Her Daughter

- Summary::
Lalmuni Devi (45) w/o Mohar Ram is r/o Rajapur, P.O. Chakiya, PS- Bhagwanpur, Dist- Siwan, belongs to scheduled caste community. The dominant caste people abducted Lalmuni Devi and her daughter Robi Kumari and gang raped. The victim Lalmuni Devi managed to survive but her daughter died due to rape.
A rape case was registered in Bhagwanpur police station on 17/07/2008, No. 47/08, u/s 308, 354, 34 IPC & 3(1)(x)of SC/ST (PoA) Act. against the rapists. One accused is in jail and others are absconding. The case is under trial in Chhapra Dist. Court. Compensation is not given to the victim /survivors yet.

Case in Brief
Ms. Bhavani (21) R/o Shivajinagar, Meerpet, RR Dist. belong to SC community. Santosh Reddy residing by right side of Bhavani’s residence got acquainted as their fathers are employees of BDL this acquaintance slowly led intimacy between them wherein Santosh Reddy used to force Bhavani for meeting at Tankbund, Meerpet, Internet and parks. This intimacy developed into love and on 18th June, 2006 she informed him that her parents are searching for marriage alliance as such they found that if their parents come to know about love affair they may not agree as they belong to different castes.
Santosh Reddy threaten of committing suicide if Bhavani fails to marry him. Thus he induced and forced her to marry wherein he assured her of Register marriage and then convincing of both side parents. In pursuance of his words on 18th June, 2006 at 10.30 am they both along with friends and relatives went to Sai Baba Temple, Vaidehinagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad and got married. Then after they moved to rented house at Domalguda, Gaganmahal, Hyderabad and started living together.
They both lived happily only for one week after which her in-laws started calling her husband by instigating him to leave her as she belongs to SC community and moreover he would have get dowry of 15 lakhs if he would have married a girl within their caste. Slowly her husband and in-laws started abusing and harassing her in the name of caste. He started coming late nights by drinking liquor and abused her in filthy language.
On 14th Morning he took his certificates, Laptop and other items relevant to him but Bhavani does not identified that he is making arrangements to leave On 15th July, 2007 thus he left her company without informing her.

Case in Brief
D Nagalakshmi, aged 22 years, resident of Bapujinagar and Balaji, aged 23 years are acquainted with each other since 7 years. This gradually developed into love. He promised that he would marry her and developed physical intimacy with her. Consequently she conceived and informed the same to him. Initially he said that he would marry her but later he refused to marry her in the 4th month of conception. She complained in the police station. With the intervention of DSS, police traced out the accused and took him into custody. Family of the accused tried to compromise by offering money to the victim. DSS stood by her and strongly demanded that the accused should marry her. Counseling was arranged with parents from both the sides, DSS and police. Balaji agreed to marry Nagalakshmi in front of everyone. While arrangements were being made for marriage, he again absconded. Finally with the pressure of DSS, police traced out him and both got married.
