Arunthathiyar Thirumoorthy is a sanitary worker of Ponnankadu, Karukkupalayam village near Thingalur, Perundurai circle, Erode district. He is residing with his family. At about 7 am in the morning, while he was repairing a broken water pipe near the motor room of the Karukkupalayam, Samiyathal- Panchayat president, Karukkupalayam who is belonged to the backward Hindu Nadar caste, her eldest son, Gopal, came and stopped her from work and abused her six times in filthy and abusive words referring to the caste names. Meantime, her son slapped at her right eye with his hand and slapped her 5 times. She screamed in pain, again he took the nearby shovel and scolded her in filthy and derogatory language.
Then the next day on 11-11-2020 at about 09-00 am she called the relatives and went to the Thingalur police station and lodged a complaint with the then Assistant Inspector Palanisamy seeking legal action against the above Gopal Nadar, who received the complaint and interrogated her and she told him what had happened. Later she went to Perundurai Government Hospital for treatment and returned home after 5 days of inpatient treatment.
A case was registered against Gopal under the SC/ST PoA Act at Thingalur Police Station with the Crime No: 306/2020 U / s 323, 506 (ii) IPC r / w 3 (1) (r), 3 (1) (s), 3 (2) (va) is Sc / St PoA Amendment Act-2015
