Sooriyanthangal village is located in Tiruvannamalai District and more than 15 Arunthathiyar families are residing in the village. Hari of the same village belonged to the Vanniyar caste had dispute with Mani, S/o Thangavel, Arunthathiyar on getting fishing tender in the lake for the past 2 years. Based on the dispute, a complaint was lodged at the Vettavallam PS and the panchayat leaders pacified and compromised the issue.

Sooriyanthangal village is a reserved constituency and in the last December 2019 the villagers forced Mr. Rajamani, S/o Thangavel (brother of Mani) to contest in the election. Moreover, Ramasamy Gounder of the same village ensured that he would take all the expenses for the election and asked Rajamani just to sign in a document. But he did not win in the election and he resigned from his job where he was working as driver to Ramasamy Gounder.

Meantime, Rajamani’s brother’s wife Alamelu and Alamelu’s brother Ravi contested in the election. They both got 31 votes and did not win in the election. Soon after the incident, Hari had verbally abused Alamelu, Ravi, Mani and Rajamani in derogatory and filthy language for contesting in the election and had brutally attacked them.

On 25.03.2020 Dhanasekaran, S/o Chinnapaiyan had gone for withdrawing money from ATM in his two-wheeler and while he was returning home the dominant caste men Chettiyar, S/o Mannu and Rajiv Gandhi had verbally abused him in cruel forms of caste names. Meantime, Dhanasekran’s uncle Kutty, Mani & Alamelu were coming on their way and asked for the verbal abuse against Dhanasekaran. Immediately the two dominant caste men had pulled Alamelu and pushed her down. Rajiv Gandhi damaged Dhanasekaran’s two wheeler. And he along with other dominant caste people brutally attack on the Dalits and rushed to the Colony and damaged the houses and vehicle. The following properties were damaged and destructed by the dominant caste people. 

25.03.2020 – The brutal attack on Dalits in Soorapathangal Village and the dominant caste people caused damaged and property destruction to Dalit Hamlets.

Mr. Athi Suresh is resident of above mentioned addressed and belonged to the Hindu Paraiyar Caste (Sub Section of Scheduled Castes). He is residing with his wife Jayalakshmi (40) who is working as writer in police department and has two children Elilan (17), Mukilan (10) respectively.

Athi Suresh is working as Reporter in Velicham TV, Ulundurpet Taluk of Kallakurichi District. He used to record the news across the Ulundurpet for news telecast. Likewise on 13.03.2020 he had recorded the news where the panchayat union middle school head mistress, school teachers had drew the pictures of the national leaders on the school walls. That same night Sathish @ Sathya, S/o Kannayiram had defamed the image of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar with obnoxious substance. Following to this, the VCK district secretary Mr. Lenin had lodged a complaint at the PS and the CSR was filed. Athi Suresh has recorded this news and it was telecasted in Velicham TV as well as in other visual media too.

Following to this, Sathish Kumar @ Sathya developed enmity and hatred towards Athi Suresh for telecasting the news in the Velicham TV Channel. On 17.04.2020 around 1: 30 p.m, Athi Suresh was standing near the PS where Sathish Kumar along with 10 dominant caste men (Vanniyar caste – Most Backward Castes) came with iron rods,  knifes and wooden logs and attempted to murder Athi Suresh. Immediately he lodged a complaint at the Ulundurpet PS.

Subsequently on 19.04.2020 around 8 p.m, Rajapandian and Pushparaj belonged to Vanniyar caste came in two-wheeler to Athi Suresh’s village and halted near Krishnamoorthy’s petty shop. They both verbally abused and discriminated in cruel, derogatory forms of verbal abuse referring to their caste name in public view. In few minutes around 20 dominant caste men reached the spot in two-wheelers and had iron rods, wooden logs, knives with them. They had threatened Athi Suresh to murder him. The next day morning Athi Suresh rushed to Mr.Mayavan’s house (leader of the village) and along with him Athi Suresh lodged a complaint at the PS. A case was registered under SC/ST PoA Act and the accused persons Arun Pandiyan and Siva was arrested and imprisoned in Villupuram Central Prison.

On 23.04.2020 around 8: 30 p.m Athi Suresh was returning home after completing his work where about 20 dominant caste people along with Sathish Kumar came there and stopped Athi Suresh’s vehicle. They had brutally attacked him with sharp edged sword at his head and he sustained severe blood injuries. The caste mob escaped from there and with the help of the villagers he was taken to the Government Hospital, Mundiyambakkam, Villupuram District. He was admitted as in-patient and two days later he was shifted to Tanjore Hospital for further treatment.

Sathish Kumar, Ilavarasan, Shanmugam, Malairajan, Velu, Rajasekar, Rajendran, Gurunathan, Venkatesan were arrested and imprisoned in Cuddalore Prison. Also 4 counter case was filed against 7 Dalit youths  stating that for creating damage to the vehicles of the police department and district collectorate, arsoning the sugarcane fields and houses.

• 7.04.2020 – On 17.04.2020 around 1: 30 p.m, Athi Suresh was standing near the PS where Sathish Kumar along with 10 dominant caste men (Vanniyar caste – Most Backward Castes) came with iron rods,  knifes and wooden logs and attempted to murder Athi Suresh.

The case case was filed at Ulunthurpet PS with the FIR No:512/2020 U/S 147, 148, 294(b), 323, 324, 506(ii), 307 - IPC, 3(1) (r), 3(2)(va) - SC/ST PoA Act.

           यह घटना जिला ऊना की तहसील हरोली के गांव पंजावर की है. यह गांव ऊना मुख्यालय से 28 कि०मी० की दुरी पर नॉर्थ जाँन की तरफ है. राज्य हिमाचल में जातिय व्यवस्था पर आधारित छुआछूत की घटनाएं थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही है भारत को आज़ाद हुए 70 वर्ष के करीब हो गए है पर ऐसी घटिया मानसिकता रखने वाले लोग आज भी समाज में मौजूद है. घटना सिथित इस गांव में चमार जाति के 50 घर, मुस्लिम जाति के 200 घर, राजपूत जाति के 30 घर, जट जाति के 10 घर, ब्राहमण जाति के 42 घर, बाती (OBC) 300, जुलाहा जाति के 2  खत्री जाति के 5 घर, नाइ जाति के 15 घर है इस गांव में 10th तक प्राइमरी स्कुल है इस गांव में डिस्पेंसरी भी है व् पानी की भी कोई समस्या नहीं है.इसी गांव में चमार जाति में से शमशेर सिंह स्पुत्र ख़ुशी राम रहता है जिसकी उम्र 47 साल की है. शमशेर सिंह घर में रह कर खेती बाड़ी का काम करता है व मौजूदा में गांव के बार्ड नंबर 7 का पंच भी है. शमशेर सिंह शादी शुदा है वे इसके तीन बच्चे है दो बेटीयाँ व् एक बेटा है. बड़ी बेटी की नबम्बर में शादी रखी हुई है छोटी बेटी बीएससी कर रही है व बेटा जोकि बैल्डिंग का काम करता था किसी दूकान मालिक के पास.

           दिनाक 1 जुलाई 2020 को शमशेर सिंह का बेटा करणदीप जिसकी उम्र 21 वर्ष की थी हर रोज़ की तरह करीब 8:30 बैल्डिंग का करने के लिए बडूही अपने दूकान मालिक के पास गया करणदीप को उसका मालिक हर महीने 12 हज़ार महीना देता था. करीब 2 बजे करणदीप का फोन शमशेर सिंह को आया की पिता जी मुझे मेरा बैंक एकाउंट बताना मैंने पैसे निकलवाने है और LIC की किश्त देनी है. तो शमशेर सिंह ने कहा की पुत्र तू घर आ जा घर में पैसे पड़े है तू लेजा पर करणदीप ने अपनी बहन को फोन करके एकाउंट नम्बर ले लिया और PNB बैंक चोकी मनीयार से 6 हज़ार रुपये निकलवा कर LIC बीमा की किश्त दे दी. फिर करीब 6 बजे शाम मुझे मेरी माता जी ने करणदीप को गांव के ही आशीष कुमार स्पुत्र अशोक कुमार जाति बाती (OBC) के साथ मोटरसाइकिल पर जाते हुए देखा आशीष कुमार फ़ौज में भर्ती हुआ है व अपनी टरेनिंग करके छुट्टी आया है. करीब 7:30 बजे शाम गांव के प्रधान विपिन कुमार का फोन आया की आपके बेटे ने नहाते समय चैक डैम में छलांग लगा दी है जल्दी डैम पर आओ जब वहां जाकर मैंने देखा तो बहुत सारे लोग मौजूद है और पुलिस भी आई हुई है इतने में प्रधान ने बताया की शमशेर तेरा बेटा इस दुनिया में नहीं रहा उसकी चैक डैम में डूबने से मौत हो गई है.वहां मौका से आशीष कुमार गायव था उसका छोटा भाई अनमोल मौजूद था उसने बाद में बताया की मैंने ही अपने भाई को भागने को बोला है की तेरी नौकरी का सवाल है. पुलिस ने जब आशीष का ब्यान लिया तो उसने झूठ बताया की करणदीप ने उसके 1800 रूपये के बूट पानी में फेंक दिए थे वो पानी में लाने के लिए गया था पर जो आशीष ने अपने फोन में डैम पर की वीडियो बनाई है उसमे करणदीप को जबरदस्ती पानी में नहाने को बोला जा रहा है. इससे प्रतीत होता है की एक योजना तहत करणदीप की ह्त्या की गई है.

                      करणदीप को उसकी मृत्यु वाले दिन उसके परिवार के लोगों ने आरोपी मुख्य लड़के के साथ देखा है. हैरानी की बात है की जिस चैक डैम में करणदीप की लाश बरामद हुई है उस डैम पर कोई भी नहाने नहीं जाता है और उस डैम का पानी बहुत ही गन्दा व् दिखने में काले रंग का है. इस घटना में एक सोची समझी साजिश के तहत ही करणदीप की ह्त्या करके उसको आत्महत्या घोषित किया जा रहा है. बड़े दुःख की बात है की करणदीप ही अपने बूढ़े माँ बाप का इकलौता सहारा था पर आज दिन तक पुलिस की और से दोषियों प्रति कोई कार्यवाही ना हुई है.       

इसके बाद NDMJ की टीम मौका पर गयी व FIR दर्ज करने वारे SP से मिला गया और पीड़ित  परिवार वालो को सात्वना देते हुए न्याय दिलवाने का भरोसा दिया.   

Mr. Backiyaraj, is resident of Villupuram District, Thiruvennainallu Block, Arasur Village and residing with his mother Dayarammal (63), elder brother Ragavendran (31). His father Moorthy had passed away few years back. He has belonged to the Hindu Arunthathiyar caste (Sub caste of Scheduled Castes). He is working as agricultural labourer and running their livelihood.

Meanwhile on 08.05.2020, around 1: 20 pm, he along with his brother Sathyaraj (35) and friend Pradeep (27), S/o Anandhan went in their own vehicle TATA SAFARI (TN 21 AW 1699) had gone to buy provisional at Tiruvennainallur shop and was coming back slowly in the Arasur service road. Their vehicle had the flag of VCK party (national party).  Mr. Arul Suganesh (37), S/o Elumalai belonged to the Vanniyar caste (dominant caste – Most Backward Castes) stopped their vehicle. He immediately asked them to get down of the vehicle and as they got down he started verbally abusing them in filthy and derogatory language referring to the caste names and also pulled the flag and spit on it. He also threw the flag.

Later, he told them to leave their place or he would set fire to the vehicle as well as on them. They were in intense fear and anticipation and hence left the place. Around 2 pm of the same day they went to Tiruvennainallur PS and lodged a complaint. The FIR was registered with the crime no: 623/2020 sections: 341,294(b), 427, 506(ii) – IPC, r/w: 3(1) (r), 3(1) (S), 3(2) (Va) – SC/ST PoA Act – 2015. The accused person Arul Suganesh was arrested.

On the morning of 17 May 2020, while Satpal Kumar (belonging to Mahasa community of Scheduled Castes) was going to work on his bike, his passage was obstructed by Mukesh(belongs to Ghirath Community of OBCs), his neighbour who arrived in his Car Thar and blocked the way not allowing his movement. When Satpal requested and demanded the way be cleared, Mukesh started abusing and insulting him with caste names in a public place. When Satpal resisted such abusive behaviour, Mukesh drawing out a baseball bat from his Thar car, attacked Satpal violently causing his left arm to fracture alongside other grave injuries and pain. Moving further, Mukesh used the bat to damage Satpal\'s bike severely and intimidate him. Upon listening to the screams and shrieks of Satpal and his nephew, few village people came to their rescue, post which Satpal was taken to hospital. Seeing the severity of the injuries and wounds, the doctor called the police and thereafter a case was registered in the Police station and the investigation is still in process.

Its to be noted that this is the third explicit incident of caste-based violence that has been perpetrated upon Satpal\'s family by Mukesh and which involves case abuse in a public place, physical harm, intimidation and public humiliation, damage to property. 

Satpal and his family have been traumatized and living in fear of Mukesh. They are now afraid of the safety and security of their and their families lives after this incident of caste violence.
