Ramachandiran, resident of Harijan colony, Puliampatti village, Aeppanayakkanpalayam,  Sathyamangalam Taluk, Erode district, belongs to Dalit Arunthathiyar community. He is working as a casual labour in a garments company. In Aeppanayakkanpalayam dominant caste hindu Nayakkar community people practice untouchability, discrimination and indulge in atrocity against the dalits. Hapless Dalits in this area, happened to endure this type of atrocity tilldate. On 31/01/2011, When Ramachandiran was riding his bicycle, Rajathi W/o Selvan Nayakkar verbally abused him saying, “Sakkili dog, can’t you ride slowly?. She referred him as a son of a prostitute. When Ramachandiran, objected to this verbal abuse, She again scolded him Saying, “ Sakkili dog how dare you question me?. Then she along with her husband and other caste hindus, tied him in tree and brutally assaulted him in a public view.

When Ramachandiran tried to register a complaint against the perpetrators regarding this atrocity, Sub Inspector Ms. Muniyammal refused to register the complaint and she was biased in favour of the perpetrators.

A. Joyce Alvin Bose (13) s/o Arockiyadoss, pursuing 6^th std, and resident of Chinnamaranodai, Ulundurpet Taluk, Villupuram District, belongs to Dalit community. In 2010, he was admitted into 6^th standard in the St. Valanaar Higher Secondary School, Cuddalore as a residential student. In the School Hostel out of 391 hostel inmates, 291 students are Dalit student. Hostel wardens Christudoss, Mahimai, and N. Peter, used to give severe coporal punishment to the hostel inmates especially Dalit students. Principal Aucknal under the pretext of disciplinary action used to commission severe punishments to students. Joyce Alvin was subject to severe discriminatory corporal punishment by the hostel warden Christudoss. On 23/01/2011, during the visit of Vinnarasi, hostel students complained that warden Christudoss is frequently beating and torturing Joyce. And during the visit Joyce was found to be in good health.

On 30/01/2011, Hostel Student leader Micheal called up Joyce parents and informed that Joyce was sick and in poor health condition. On 31/01/2011, around 4pm as they Cuddalore, the School Administration called them up and informed that Joyce was admitted in the hospital. Parents went to the Hospital and seen him in the ICU. Then he was rushed to the Government Hospital, but the hospital staffs informed that he is brought dead. Condemning the Negligence regarding medical treatment and torture and harsh corporal punishment meted out to Joyce  by the school Administration, parents and VCK Political party and other solidarity groups staged a protest.

In reaction to the protest, district administration promised that  Principal Aucknal, wardens Christudoss, Mahimai and Peter will be suspended to ensure neutral investigation process. They also promised that the school administration will provide Rs. 10 lakhs as monetary compensation to the parents of the deceased student. But the District Administration and the school Administration failed to fufill the promises and agreement made on the day of protest demonstration. Just to ensure conflict free peaceful burial, both district Administration and the school Administration made such false promises. This case is still in the investigation process under the RDO.

Ganapathipalayam village, in Kallipalayam, Udumalai Taluk, Tirupur district, is home to Nayakkars, Chettiyars, Boyers and Dalits. Youths in this village organized cricket match between Dalit youths and Caste Hindu youths on 26/01/201 and 30/01/2011. Dalit youths won the match held on 30/01/2011. Caste Hindu community youths who were unable the digest the victory of dalits planned to attack the Dalit youths. Hence on 30/11/2011 around 7 pm around 20 caste Hindu youths, went to the Dalit neighbourhood and called Maasaani, Haridoss and Devakumar, in the pretext to have a discussion about the cricket match. After taking them to some isolated place near the Dalit neighbourhood, Caste Hindus namely, Ramesh, Premkumar, Praveenkumar, Anandkumar, Bharathiprabhu and Vignesh, verbally abused the three and referred derogatory regarding caste name. They brutally assaulted the three dalit youths with Cricket bat, stumps and sticks. Maasaani received severe injury on his back head. Haridoss and Devakumar sustained severe injuries in their chest, hand, head and legs.

After orchestrating such mob attack the caste Hindu perpetrators took refuge with Panchayat President. Injured dalit victims called 108 for ambulance assistance. As the Ambulance have not arrived, Maasaani, Devakumar and Haridoss reached Udumalai Government Hospital on their own and were admitted around 11 pm. One policeman arrived to the hospital to get the affidavit, after the Hospital personnel reported the attack to the police station. But the police refused to record the caste abuse and derogatory referred against caste name. On 31/01/2011, Ganapathipalayam Panchayat president met the victims in the hospital and asked them not to file a complaint with the Police Station. On knowing that the Udumalai Police Station entertained the false counter complaint filed by the accused perpetrators against the innocent victims, relatives of the victims and some solidarity groups staged a protest and road blockade in the Udumalai-Pollachi High way for three long hours.

Police failed the register the true atrocity incident and the caste abuse referred by the perpetrators. Panchayat President persuaded Police to register the false counter compliant against the victims to exert pressure on them to withdraw the case.
