Criminals brutally murdered a Dalit youth by stabbing him with a knife
The incident took place in Madhesar Bagauchia village, located within the jurisdiction of the Janta Bazar police station in the state of Bihar’s Saran district. On August 14, 2026, Rohit Kumar—son of Jiut Ram, a member of a Scheduled Caste—was called out of his home by several young men from a 'general' (upper) caste in the same village. That night, they murdered him by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife. The motive for the murder is believed to be rooted in caste-based dominance. It is reported that the perpetrators and the deceased, Rohit Kumar, were on friendly terms and often spent time together; however, the perpetrators—who belonged to a 'general' caste—viewed Rohit with contempt, knowing he was a member of a Scheduled Caste. A case (Case No. 230/2026) has been registered at the Janta Bazar police station. The individuals named in the case are Akash Kumar, Shani Kumar, Himanshu Kumar, and Lalu Singh. All the accused have been arrested and sent to jail.
