Social, economic, political and educational status of the victims and criminals: -

The victim in the incident is 14 years old. She belongs to the A caste. Since the victim's father has passed away, she lives with her mother Laxmi and brother Pratik and studies in the 8th grade. The victim's mother and brother work as laborers in the fields. Their family survives on the income they earn.

Accused Babu alias Murari Shankar Patil belongs to Maratha (upper caste) living in the same village. On the day of the incident, the victim's brother Pratik had gone to Pandharpur three days ago. So he had told his cruel friend Murari about feeding his cows. So he came to feed the cows and saw that the victim was alone at home. Her mother had also gone to work in the fields. So taking advantage of this, the accused raped the victim. And threatened to kill the victim's mother if she told anyone and ran away. Thinking that something wrong has happened to her, the victim cut the veins of her hand with a blade. When her mother asked on coming home, she told her mother about the type of atrocity that happened to her. Since her mother was alone, the victim came to the police station with her mother along with some known people of the village and registered an FIR of the incident on the second day of the incident.
