Criminals had brutaly Murdered a Dalit Yuth by stabbed repeadetaly
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The incident took place in the Dalit settlement of Kumarpatti, located within the jurisdiction of the Simri Bazar police station in the state of Bihar’s Darbhanga district. On the night of September 5, 2026, a cultural program was organized on the premises of the Adarsh Middle School in that locality to mark the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
Among those present at the aforementioned event was Rakesh Sahni—a resident of Kansi village (located next to Kumarpatti) and son of Arjun Sahni—who was attending as a spectator. For reasons yet to be determined, an altercation broke out between Mr. Sahni and an unidentified individual, during which Mr. Sahni was assaulted. Believing that his attackers belonged to a Scheduled Caste, Mr. Sahni contacted his family members to seek revenge. Acting on his information, a group of several dozen people—armed with various weapons—arrived at the venue. They subjected the event organizer, Kamlesh Kumar (aged approximately 26, son of Ramashish Ram), to caste-based verbal abuse, seized him, and murdered him by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife.
When Suman Kumar, a relative of Kamlesh Kumar, attempted to intervene, the assailants launched a life-threatening knife attack on him as well. Suman Kumar sustained serious injuries. The group of assailants included Rakesh Sahani, Ganaur Sahani, Murari Sahani, Virender Thakur, Chanchal Thakur, Chandan Thakur, Anarjit Kumar, Abhishek Sahani, Rohit Paswan, Roshan Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Ritesh Sahani, Krish Kumar, and four to five unidentified individuals. In connection with this incident, a case (Case No. 186/26) was registered at the Simri Bazar Police Station on September 6, 2026.
The police have arrested 08 accused individuals and sent them to jail. The police have also assured the victims that a speedy trial will be conducted in the case.
