Dalit Woman Raped and Murdered

Diseased Vaishali (30) w/o Suresh Ghodeswar lived along with her husband and two children Sneha (8) and Nishant (6) at Badnera – Amravati. She belongs to Mahar (SC) Community and working as a Nurse in the Dr. Arora Private Hospital Amravati. On November 12, 2005 at 8.40 pm Late Vaishali was left out from the hospital, (where she was working) going home. While returning she met Sachin Nalawade on the way (This information got from Sachin Nalalwade, when F.F. Team met him) and they went on a Motor Bike Hero Puck. It was learnt from the statement of Sachin that Vaishali requested Sachin to teach her bike driving. Vaishali while riding bike, met with an accident and seriously injured (Vaishali was not trained so that she could not control the bike and fell down along with Sachin). Sachin called Dinesh Bub, who is a Shiv Sena Shakha Pramukh and corporator and then he went by walking towards Lahoti Hospital. Then Dinesh Bub telephoned ISP Satya Narayan Jaiswal and he told him to send somebody to science core ground.
Then API Sharif Khan from police department went to ground and admitted Vaishali in Irvin Hospital. After checking Vaishali doctor told that she is serious and need to admit in the Nagpur Hospital. Then Dinesh Bub gave ambulance for sending Vaishali to the hospital. While going towards Nagpur Vaishali died. Tivsa PHC doctor told that she is dead. After that body was sent to Amravati Irvin Hospital for the postmortem report. Initially the case was registered against Vaishali about accident case but after Postmortem report it was clear that it was not a simple accident case but a case of serious Rape and murder. Charge Sheet is not yet filed in the court, Atrocity act is not yet framed on Perpetrators, and Case is under inquiry by CID.

A Dalit Police Officer along with his Family Attacked and Humiliated for Registering a Case

On 16th Oct. 2005 at 5pm, Sambha Nagoraw Gondalwad and Madhav Manika Boinwad (Koli) belongs to Masalga village they broke the Matang community’s Drinking water Hand pump which is located at Matang, due to this Sanjay Mariba Gayakwad asked them why did they break the hand pump chain? On 17/10/05, he complained at Wamamrao Mathanraw Suryavanshi police Patil of Masalga as he was out of station on the incident day on 16/10/05.
When Sambha and Madhav came to know about this, they went with 10-15 people with wooden stick (Lathi) cyth and stone towards police Patil’s home and they started abusing by caste name and assaulted victim’s sister, mother. They used Oh Mangardya you are going to register case against us, you have more Masti, we will see you. After they started beating with stick. Because of that situation police Patil started crying. Due to this attack the women and men of Matang community came out on the spot and the perpetrators started to beat them also by the lathi. They beat Janabai Mariba Gayakwad on her hip and left hand by lathi and due to this she had an injury on her left hand. Digumber Nagorao Gondalwad caught hold of the hand of Vaishali Wamans, assaulted and abused her and used slang words on caste name.

Atrocity on Dalit family by Govt Officials in Haveri

- Summary:: Basvanu Devapa Ritti used to live in a house where his ancestor lived earlier but the land belongs to Corporation. Basvena’s father Devappa gave petition to the government regarding this and constructed the house and stayed there for past 82 years. Till 2006 Basvanu paid all the dues of the house in the name of the corporation. But the government did not sanction his house. Shekhar Gouda Patel a district judge was resided opposite to the Basvanu’s house. The sewage that were coming from the Shekhar Gouda’s house were flown into Basvanus house.Basvanu gave a complaint regarding this to Tahasildar. Tahsildar then asked Gouda to make some other way for the drainage of water. The Tahasildar’ name is T. Ramesh. After three months Tahasildar sent a notice to Basvanu stating the house has to be vacated else it will be demolished according to the rules. Basavanna sent a petition to Banglore high court regarding this. Right now the case is pending in the high court. DC Sulman Aditya Bisman, AC Shankarappa, Tahasildar T.Ramesh made a sudden visit to Basvanna‘s house and burnt down all the items. Even cows and buffaloes were not spared of this gruesome act. When Basvanna’s mother intervened she was pushed down by the 3 members due to that she is admitted in Davnagar Chikken Hospital from past 1month. Regarding this incident several news agency and DSS group staged protest against this. But an FIR was falsely registered against those people by Tahasildar and Judge. Basvanna went to complain against this matter to the police the police refused to register a complaint. Even after the intervention of NCDHR no action was taken by the police. Pushpalata, from NCDHR has a sent a letter to the Minister of Karnatak, IG Office and revenue office regarding this and still waiting for the reply.

Atrocity on Dalit Shiksha Karmi Grade-II Teacher in Govt Girls High School Bijalpur

- Summary:: The incident is of Govt. Girls High School, Bijalpur Village, which situated near about 15km far from the district head quarter Indore. On 15th October 2005 while Ms. Shobha Verma(32) W/O- Bhupendra Verma(33) belongs to SC( Passi community) a Shiksha Karmi Grade-II teacher was teaching to the class 9th Students, the principal Mr.Sharad Chand Joshi(60) came the class and forcefully taken her book with the intention to humiliate and insult her in front of all the students. The principal with his assistant Ms. Surekha Lakkad(48) always gives mental torture to the victim about her Caste and appointment, they both belongs to Bhrahmin Community. They used to abuse the teachers who belongs to SC/ST community by caste, they used to say that you people got the job because of your caste you are not qualified enough to teach. If any day Shobha reaches school late then the principal force her to write application for CL. They have stopped to provide office tea to her. If she goes to collect any file he throws her the file and does not allow her to sign on the register. Ms. Shobha Verma is a post graduate in Sociology, she was appointed by the state govt on the basis of merit and examination. He also abuse the other teacher Mr. Mehtab Singh Jamra(27) s in the name of caste, Mehtab is a graduate and belongs to ST(Bhilala) In 2004 at DIET Training , there was a meeting regarding the examination. There the principal said in front of all that Jamra is a bhill and he does not know how to teach. Shobha also is a senseless she does not know how to teach she is scheduled caste. She should not be provided tea from the canteen.

Rape of a Minor Dalit Girl Shekhpura

- Summary::
Geeta Kumari d/o Charitra Chaudhary and Pyari Devi, belonging to Pasi caste, in Kari village, Shekhpura Ps & Taluka, Shekhpura district, Bihar was raped by a dominant caste member of the village namely Jarik Bind s/o late Harkhu Bind (Bind caste). The family of the victim is involved in the wage labourer.
It was the time of the Dussera festival. The victim had gone to the groundnut field to keep the animals away from there. The rapist Jarik Bind came on the day (October 12, 2005) to the field, carried her on his arms to a nearby pulse’s field and forcefully raped her. A person from the same village Chotelal Yadav s/o late Kesho Yadav saw him running away after the rape. About 1.30pm Geeta Kumari came crying. When she was asked the reason for the crying she narrated the whole incident giving the name of the victim Jarik Bind. Pyari Devi, the mother of the girl took her and went to the police station and filed the FIR no. 255/05 under the section 376 IPC. The police sent them to Sadar Hospital in Shekhpura but there were no doctors available. Again the girl was taken to the Barbigha holpital. There too was the same problem. Finally she was taken to the Sadar Hospital in Munger where she had her medical checkup only after a day of the incident.
The police had visited only once for the arrest of the rapist and appeared no more there. No compensation has been given to the family. No charge sheet has been submitted to the court. The police have made no arrest so far. Geeta has stopped attending school.
