Ms. Archana (21) is residing with her parents and younger brother at Malaiyandipattinam of Pollachi Taluk of Coimbatore District. She belonged to the Hindu Arunthathiyar Community. She was pursuing her B.E (EEE) in an Engineering College in Pusaripatti. Meanwhile she developed a friendship with a man named Surya Krishanan, S/o Mr. Saravanan (belonged to the dominant Gounder Community). He told her that he will marry her and had sexually abused her many times. Believing his fake promises she agreed. Later he refused to marry her and she went to his home asking the reason. But the parents of Surya Krishnan verbally abused her in filthy and derogatory words referring to the caste names.
Brutal attack on SC ST Students & teachers of Gobarghati Ashram School by CISF Security forces of Tata Steel Ltd.,
The Ashram School at Gobarghati was established in 1949. The present student
strength of the school is 380. The school is situated adjacent to the Tata Steel boundary. The
camp of the security forces of Tata Company from CISF is situated near the school within
the company campus. On 18.02.2018 at about 11.00 PM, some 20-25 CISF Jabans forcibly
entered the school campus and assaulted whomever they found. As Matric examination was
very near being scheduled on 23.02.2018, many of the students were studying. The
strength of the school is 380. The school is situated adjacent to the Tata Steel boundary. The
camp of the security forces of Tata Company from CISF is situated near the school within
the company campus. On 18.02.2018 at about 11.00 PM, some 20-25 CISF Jabans forcibly
entered the school campus and assaulted whomever they found. As Matric examination was
very near being scheduled on 23.02.2018, many of the students were studying. The
indiscriminate beating by the CISF forces resulted in injury sustained by 33 students
including 1 physically disadvantaged student and a teacher of the school. The forces left the
school campus as police arrived on the spot. The CISF alleges that there were stone pelting
by the school students to their camp which enraged them to take such step.
On the other hand, facts were collected about the inhumane condition of the school.
The existing buildings are not repaired and maintained. No new building has been
constructed in last 10/12 years.

The boundary wall is in dilapidated condition. The security of the children is a big question mark. It was said that the condition of the school is not fit for human habitation. Hence development of the students was out of question. Not a single rupee from C.S.R. funds of Tata Steel has been spent for
development of the school.
It was learnt reliably that there is a motive of some authorities to shift the school to
some other place and handover the land to an industrial house. It is also learnt that the Tatas
have the planning of taking over the school land construction an Airstrip for their use.
As the children from SCST communities were beaten up, the district administration
has sealed the school from media and activists. It is strongly felt that the Government is
protecting the accused persons and at the same time do not allow to show the horrible
condition prevailing inside the school campus to the outer world.

SUDHANSU SETHI Murder Case in Bilalanjuda (V) under Mahakalapara PS in Kendrapara District
A group of persons including Sudhanshu Sethi is said to have gone for hunting in the
evening of 16.1.18. Sudhanshu did not return home that night. On the next day, when asked
other accompanies denied any knowledge of his whereabouts. By evening the dead body
was recovered. Police seized the body and took for Post Mortem. Sudhanshu died in
mysterious conditions. It is alleged that he was murdered.

Dalit student murder by Gun at point blank range in Bihar
Pawankumar the deceased victims was grazing his goats, in the fields one baby goat entered into the field of accused. The accused came running into the filed caught hold of the baby goat and started abusing the victim. With the shouting, the victims family came to the resuce of Pawan Kumar. The victim assured the accused that he will reimburse the loss caused the baby goat in his field. All the accused people did not listen to this but starte beating the family of victims with iron rods. In that situation accused Kriashna took out pistol from his pocket and shot at the victim at point blank range. Pawan Kumar died on the spot. The other accused persons continued to beat the vitims uncles, auties, grandfathers who came to rescue him. The vikasmit of the village informed the police about the incident and police interneved.The police took the complaint and registered FIR and arrested one accused Sandeep Chouwdary who is an army person. The investigation is going and all other accused are absconding.
