access denied due to caste

    Geetanjali Sethy a dalit  girl is married to Bikaram Nath s/o Benudhar Nath belongs to an upper caste  community of Sangaon village of Marsaghai PS in Kendrapara dist. Both Geetanjali and Vikram were staying in Paradeep after  love marrage, however, after Phailin, they  returned  to Sanagaon to live with  parents. This did not go well with upper caste neighbours. They started misbehaing Geetanajli as she  is a  dalit and disallow her to use tube well. They also boycotted Benudhar\'s family to enter the temple. Discontented with the above situation, Geetanjali filed a complain at Marsaghai PS about the incident.   But Police did not register the case and kept it pending for two months and asked the parties to settle the matter amicably.

CHILD ATTACK

    Parsuram Munda a 21/2 year boy was thworn boiled water over his body by anganwadi warkers and got injured. As Parsuram was playing with two other children  near kitchen  of Anganwadi centre, he picked  up one boiled egg from the bucket,on which the workers got angry and threw boiled water on the boy.A case was registered and two accused women  have been sent to the jail.

Attempt to Rape

    As per the statement of Kalpana Mallick, the victim of rape, on 16.04.2014, the male members of her family out of home. On that fateful night, she was sleeping in her room while brother in law, mother in law and sister in laws  slept on the verandah. Taking this opportunity, Nanda Pala entered her room through an opened wall and tried to rape her. While the accused tried to open her saree, she woke up and shouted . In the mean time, all her in laws came and rescued her and try to get hold of accused. But, Nanda Pala managed to flee from the place.  The  mater was informed to the Sarapanch but action had been taken and finally, she filed a complain at Nihal Prasad police station.

Murder and sexual assault

    Narahari Sethi , the husband of victim Nirmala Sethi was brutally killed by a group of assailants belong to dominant caste persons. On 27.03.2014 at about 8.00 am, Narahari Sethi was  airing  the paddy at his own paddy ground while son Tukuna, 19 was helping him.  Suddenly, a group of people came to the spot  with lathi, stick, axe and bhujali and attacked Narahari and son Tukuna as pre planned. The name of the persons who attacked the deceased were Dhira Rout s/o Rama Rout, Rama Rout, s/o Daitari Rout, Sudarsana Rout, Baidhara Maiti, Chtaranjan Maiti, Manoj Rout,Saroj Rout, Brja barik, Kalandi Barik, , Patia Barik, , Rabi Das, Bapi Das, Satyabhama Rout w/o Madan Rout, Tukuni Rout, Kanak Maiti, Gauri Maiti, Kanchan Maiti and 10 others all are from village Akhada Sahi, PS- Mahakalapada of district Kaendrapada. They attacked Narahari with lathi, axe, Bhujali. While, the deceased tried to enter his house, Baidhara Maiti attaked him  on his chest with a big stone and he became dead. They also attacked their two sons Tukuna Sethi and Babu Sethi. Tukuna Sethi was severely injured. The assailants beat up and outraged modesty of Nirmala Sethi, wife of the deceased, who is a handicapped lady. They also broke her aid.  After that they  destroyed all valuables such as TV, two mobile phones, two wheler vehicle and took away  Rs.30,000/- from the house.  At last they attempted to lock both mother and children in the house to set on file. On receiving the information police is reaching, they fled from the place.

Physical assault and forceful land grabbing

    The perpetrator forcefully occupied land belong to Bijay Mallick, As the victim opposed them, they attacked him by diggers and sped uttering vulgar language. Being a physical handicapped person without having his left palm, the victim left the place with fear and went to police station to file the complain but the police did not accept the complain. Bijay Mallick Purchased a pice of land 0.28 decimal from Suvendu Das @ Rs.200000/-. Initially bijay paid Rs.150000/- and rest was to be paid during registration. Manytimes Vijay attempted to register the land but Suvendu did not turn to the sub register office. In turn, Suvendu sold same land to another person. Vijay filed a civil petition at Puri but the court  rejected it Hence, Vijay filed another writ petition at honorable high court of Odisha. On 27.03.2014, there was a bomb blast at the disputed land but forutunately, the victim was absent in the field. The victim filed a complain which is registered and two accused persons were arrested.
