- Summary::
Village Lavan is seatuated in Diodar Taluka of Banaskantha District. The population of village is approximately 5000. There are people of different castes living in the village. For example Rajput, Dalit, Rabari, Trible, Suthar, Vania etc. There are 300 houses of Rajput community. They are domenant and powefull in the village. The village has school from 1 to 12 standards. The school has also got an Arts college. There are 80 families of Dalit community living in the village. Dalits are not allowed to enter in to the temple. They are not allowed to seat on a chair in Grampanchayat office.
On 31-5-2008 victim Manjulaben was sleeping in the night at her home, at that time accused Vaktabhai Dungrabhai Rajput and Jagatabhai Manjibhai Rajput both residing at Lavan, Ta. Diodar came there with a brown colour Car and forcefully raped her. And then the abused her and used abusive and filthy words to her against her caste. They also threatened her to kill, and then they ran away. There after on 1-6-2008 the victim filed a complained at Diodar Police station against the accused persons.

In Cuddalore district, Cuddalore Taluk, under Kurincipaddi jurisdiction Eddamkondampattu village is situated. Ms.Subbulakshmi (18) D/o Mr.Krishnamoorthy belongs to Hindu Parayah community residing in the above said address. She had completed 10th standard and after that she drop our from school due to financial problem. Her father and mother were working as a coolie in the nearer villae for meager wages hence both were not in the house during day time. In man occasion she was alone in the house seldom she shourt sight grandmother had accompanied with her.
On 24.05.2008 Miss. Subbulakshmi was alone in the house and it was noticed by unknown barbarian and using this opportunity they came through upper area by removed the thatches of the house. The barbarians brutally adducted the girl from the house and later they had crucially raped and murdered her. Her body had disposed in the well which was near to the house. After two days, on 26.05.2008 by morning 6.30 the deceased family had got the message that one dead body is floating in Periyan well. Instantly they passed the message to the police station and the fire fighters, after their arrival the body had been taken out from the well. In her body there were several wounds and scratches in lips, breast, thie and in other private parts. The police Inspector have been sent the dead body for inquest. The caste Hindus and the other unknown culprits trying to conceal the fact, by blowing a rumor like psycho atrocity.

A Dalit Woman Murdered and Her 7 Year Old Daughter Severely Injured

- Summary:: A Dalit family having 6 members (Chhotey Lal (48) s/o Kishnoo as the head of the family, Rooprani (45) (deceased victim) w/o Chhotey Lal, Sarwan (20) s/o Chhotey Lal, Karan (16) s/o Chhotey Lal, Omprakash alias Omdev (10) s/o Chhotey Lal and Shivani (7) D/o Chhotey Lal) is living at Hullikheda under PS Sarojini Nagar in District Lucknow where Dalits are looked down. The village consists of 200 Dalits franchisers only. However, most Dalits depend on Dominants of the neighboring villages. Chhotey lal has an acre of land in which he had irrigated from the bore well of Nanhey and for which he had to pay Rs.125./- On 23.5.2008 he asked his son Karan to go to Annapur and pay the amount to Nanhey. Karan having not found Nanhey at his house, did not pay the amount to his son Deepak telling that he will pay the amount only to Nanhey and was on his way to Hullikheda. But on the way, when Karan was taking some snacks at a grocery shop, surprisingly the accused Ajit Singh s/o Ramnaresh Singh, Dinesh Pal s/o Nanhi Pal and Sonu s/o Sharda Baksh Singh came there and asked him to give the amount to Deepak s/o Nanhey. When he asserted that he would give that only to Nanhey his father, the accused abused him, threatened him to murder and snatched Rs. 2015 from his pocket. Later Karan went straight to the garden where his parents and Shiwani were working and narrated the whole incident. It was around 11am. No sooner Ajit Singh and Dinesh Pal on a motor bike went in search for Karan and saw the victims Chhotey lal, Karan, Rooprani, Shivani and others stood on the road. They stopped the accused and tried to inquire about the incident but Ajit Singh did not care about them and his motor bike ran over Rooprani w/o Chhotey Lal and Shivani d/o Chhotey Lal. As a result, Rooprani got grievous hurt and Shivani’s leg was fractured. Rooprani and Shivani were immediately rushed to the Sarojini Nagar hospital where Rooprani gave her statement and soon doctors declared her dead. Shivani was referred to the district hospital. The postmortem was conducted which stated that she was injured with the sharp edged weapon. However, the case was registered in the Sarojini Nagar police station as well as Kakori police station. The police and Social Welfare Officer Lucknow Mr. A.K.Singh had visited to the spot and gave the cheque of Rs. 75,000/- and arrested the accused. Shadhu Ram (SHO) Sarojini Nagar had visited the spot and registered the FIR u/s 307, 34 IPC and 3(2)(v) SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. Panna Lal (SHO) Kakori too visited the spot and registered the FIR u/s 323, 504, 506 IPC and 3(1)(x) SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. The accused are in jail now. The case has been registered in the Sarojini Nagar police station as well as Kakori police station. Spot investigation conducted on 24-05-07 by S.S.P Akhil Kumar, A.S.P. and S.H.O. Sarojini Nagar; Shadhu Ram. The case is investigated by D.S.P. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh. 4 accused were arrested and languishing in jail. Charge Sheet yet not filed. Compensation of Rs. 75,000 as per SC/ST (PoA) Rules 1995 paid for the deceased victim.

Untouchability Wall in Roshanai Area

In Villupuram District, Tindivanm municipalay 3rd ward is considered as a reserved portion nearly 2000 dalit families are living in this area. This portin was belongs to Mr.Duraisamy (Teacher) after he sold this to portion to Mr. Aravind of real Agency in Pondicherry. Te coverage of the area is only 2 acre and 2 cent. Though this way only Dalit using to go to school, college, sops and hospital. In this situation Mr.Baskaran @Venkateswaran Panchayat leader of suthaukeanni in Pondicherry bough this land and build wall around his portion. He also named as Abdul Kalam street and fixed a name board. He inviteded 4th ward member (non-dalit0 to inaugurate this function.
Basically this portion was bought from a dalit person. But now they are speaking law to cross the area for various purpose. This wall closed the four sieds of the streets and it looked like a separate area. From 3rd ward only they got water and current supply all these are impossible because of the wall. On 30th they conducted town meeting in theat meeting Dalits complaint about this wall which indirectly signifies untouchability.

Mass attack on Dalit community for constructing of compound for religious place- Nerana village

- Summary:: Deshraj (36) s/o Dulku Ram, Vimila Devi (30) w/o Harvansh lal, Rakesh Kumar (26) s/o Yamnu Ram, Sudarshan Kumar (14) s/o Late Punu Ram, Vidha Devi(60) w/o Yamunu Ram, Vatte Devi (70) w/o Dalku Ram, Urmila Devi (43) w/o Charan Dass, Sandhiya Devi (35) w/o Karm Chand, Sudesh Kumari (38) w/o Amar Singh, Asha Rani(28) w/o Tara Rani, Maya Devi(35) W/o Deshraj residents of Nerana village within the Kangra District of U.P. belonging to the Schedule Caste (Chamar) Community were beaten by Non- Dalits on 14-05-2008. On 24-04-07 in the congress Revenue Ministry, the demands of the Dalit Community accepted and the foundation of compound wall for The “Shri Guru Ravidass Samudayak Bhavan” was laid on government land in the village. Along with this, 10 lakhs were also sanctioned. On 1-09-07 the PWD started construction on plot no.585. During the course of construction it was found that plot no. 585 allotted for the Bhavan was much too less and so the PWD sanctioned plot no.588 and they laid the foundation over there. On 14-05-08 the Dalit community collected at the construction site to help out with its construction, when the perpetrators (Swarup Singh, Shindhi, Beena Devi, Pushpa, Manju Devi, Amrti Devi, Nagin Chand, Chhotu, Bantoo, Balwant Pathaniya and others rajputs) dominant caste rajputs arrived and asked them to stop construction as the building would block the pathway to the fields. The victims responded that the land had been given to them by the government and suggested that the perpetrators could use an alternate route to their fields that is existing. Hearing this, the perpetrators got angry and began to beat the Dalits with sticks and stones which caused a large number of Dalits being injured. On 14-05-08 an F.I.R. was filed u/s 147,148, 149,323, 506 of the I.P.C. and sec. 3 (1) (x) of SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. So far, none of the perpetrators have been arrested. 6 of them have been granted anticipatory bail. The Charge Sheet has not been filed and No compensation has been paid to the victims. 6 perpetrators got anticipatory bail. No compensation paid to the victims. Charge sheet not filed. Petition was given to the DM for compensation. Petition is filed to the court to file Charge sheet.
